So your blog is ready and you’re posting regularly but no one is coming to your site let alone commenting on your posts. So what do you do to attract more visitors?
Promoting your blog is a must if you want a steady flow of traffic. Here I have listed 10 tips that will get you on the road to regular traffic.
1. Set up a newsletter subscription form on your blog give away a free product to entice subscribers. Here is a good Wordpress plug-in for list building
2. Set your feed up on your My.Yahoo.com.
3. Use an automatic ping service. Better still use this Wordpress RSS plug-in
4. Comment on other blogs. Write useful comments not just spammy replies.
5. Submit to blog directories starting with the Blurb Blog Directory.
6. Add your blog URL to everything you send including letters by snail mail.
7. Get some business cards with your blog address on them. This site gives you 250 free www.vistaprint.com
8. Add an RSS feed to your blog so that people can subscribe. This is very popular at the moment I myself am subscribed to over 150 blogs.
7. Put your blog URL in your email siggy.
8. Post often at least once a day. 10 mins is not a lot of time out of your day plus search engines love content.
9. Use Trackbacks when posting something from other blogs this will give you a link back from their blog.
10. Re-write your posts and submit them to article directories such as www.trumparticles.com include a link back to your blog in your author bio box.
Use a good stats counter to keep track of your visitors. Wordpress users I recommend the wordpress.com stats plug-in. if you don’t use Wordpress then just search Google there are hundreds of free stat counters available.
Keep up to date with the latest from my blog, then please consider subscribing to my RSS Feed. You can also subscribe by Email and have new posts sent directly to your inbox.

Great post however 2 things that I would mention that have been very important to me as a new blogger are signing up for StumleUpon and Entrecard. That seems to be where I get most of my traffic and it’s a good start.
Commenting on other blogs has proved to be effective as well, as long as it’s a blog that someone actually reads.

I must disagree with your #8. Why? First of all, there is no law that says write 3 times a day. Blogging is not medicine. But yes, blog constantly, don’t let 2 days pass without writing something.
And when writing, if you really have something, it won’t take 10 minutes to write, unless your post is something like “Yo’ sup, just got home, thought I’d type sumthin in dis box, 2 c wwhat happnse”
That would be an ok post, if you’re looking to attract your already good friends to you blog, but if you’re really looking to increase traffic, like you say in this post’s title, you gotta be more focused, more professional and allocate more than 10 minutes.
