Podcasting is the latest craze sweeping the internet at the moment, and it’s not as daunting as it sounds to start. All you need is some basic knowledge and a server, and you’re off.
I have written this 4 step guide to help you get started with podcasting.
1. Prepare the content you are going to use in your podcast. If your podcast is new you will need an audio recording program. If you will be using a recording device not attached to your computer you will need to be able to transfer it.
Once you have created the podcast you will need to convert it. Most recorders will produce the file in a .wmv file that will need converting to mp3. Most recording programs will do this for you be sure to choose the correct quality setting when converting.
2. Now it is finished you need o publish it on your server. Just upload the podcast to your server then add a link to it on your download page and your good to go.
3. Create an RSS feed for your podcasts so that your listeners will be updated when you add new content. If you are adding podcasts to a blog they will be included in the RSS feed automatically.
4. Publish your RSS feed in the many feed directories on the internet so that your content can be found I have listed some directories to get you started.
