There are many ways of getting free traffic to your website one of which is forums. Most of are members of at least 2 or 3 forums. Some of the big forums are Digitalpoint and Sitepoint and the up and coming Blog Forum. They are a great way of interacting with other people in your niche and meeting new friends.
There are many ways in which we can use forums for getting free traffic to our websites. I have list 5 tips below to using forums.
1. Set up your profile. Forum profiles can say a lot about you and your website. Upload your avatar usually a smaller version of your websites logo is best. Include details about yourself and if possible your business. Allow other members to message you, people tend not to bother if they cannot contact you privately through the forum.
2. Create a signature. 9/10 forums allow signature links usually after 10 posts. Some will aloow them straight away. Dont just put your link right in their use some text as well so instead of having `www.blogchews.com` you would be better off with `Join our Blog Community today` notice i hyperlinked some text, this looks a lot better than just the URL of your website.
3. Can you back it up. If you are going to be giving helpful advice either through new threads or by responding to others make sure you can back up what you are saying people like facts and mis-leading them will not do yourself any favours.
4. Create killer titles. This is an important part of any post in a forum. Creating eye catching killer titles will get you more readers and more responses to what you have to say. 90% of posts i read on forums are because the title caught my eye. This tip is also vital not only on forums but pretty much any website from blogs to articles and iusually always mention it as i did in the post 10 killer steps to great blogging.
5. Read the rules. All forums have rules so be sure to read them before posting. Check the rules for each section of the forum dont go posting in the wrong sections as this will lead to infractions and ultimatly a ban.
Ultimatly using forums is a great free way to promote your websites. Following these tips will help you on your way. Just stick to the basics post reliable and informative information and your reputation will grow and so will your traffic.

I love forums as they are a great place to find new like minded people that you can share your thoughts and ideas with.
I like being able to help others get out of ruts or over and around those brick walls that can stop us in our tracks. Forums are the place to find these people.
I noticed that your post says your blog comments are nofollow free but I see that the two comments that were here when I landed have ‘nofollow’. Just incase your script for DoFollow has stopped working.
