Playing In Sky - Achieved Great Talk !

Publicity Stunts are designed to attract the public’s attention to a particular event or cause, and in many cases are set up by professional publicity and marketing companies to coincide with the release of a new product or service, or to raise the profile of a celebrity, athlete or politician.

Publicity stunts are designed to be newsworthy, in order to get the best media coverage possible, and tend to be quirky or even down right outrageous, and some of the very best stunts in history have been collected together on the website of Taylor Herring, who are one an award winning public relations company.

These stunts include the amazing ‘Hands across America’, which took place back in 1986, and involved 7 million people joining hands across 16 different states (including then president Ronald Regan), to form a line that reached over 4,150 miles. This publicity stunt was designed to raise awareness for the desperate plight of the many thousands of homeless and poverty stricken people across American and all participants were supposed to have paid $10 in order to get their place in the line, although only $20 million was actually raised.

Despite the fact Hands across America fell short on its intended fund raising it was an extremely high profile event and one of the most impressive publicity stunts of all time, and still to this day continues to raise awareness for homeless causes.;)
