I am using Interspire since over a year ... but I tend to change to another system. This are the reasons:

--> The price doubled last year. There is no "monthly fee", but there is a "yearly upgrade-contract" which charges for 250 Dollars. That´s about the same as "20 Dollars monthly". So what?

--> In the last months the updates mostly focused on new, very special features. But I see no improvement in the basics, even in the urgent things.

For example: Every eMail-List has it´s own User-Database. So when I have three eMail-Lists (for example one newsletter and two follow-up-mailings), which share most of the same subscribers, they are saved triple in the database.

Imagine, that a user puts in all his data (adress, gender, age,...) in one List ... it is not present in the other list. The same eMail in the other list ... is a complete new database-entry.

On top of that it is a hell when a user changes his eMail or other data. You have to change it in EVERY SINGLE LIST. This is not a professional database-structure, it is just a mess.

I will buy Omnistar in the next days and test it, ´cause after the last update they changed the editor, which is not working correct anymore, blocks the editing-site which makes it impossible to save something. Double and Triple work.

Just a thought: This is the most high-priced eMail-System that I ever saw, and now they put in the little tinymce-Editor instead of a professional (and more expensive) Editor like WYSIWYG Pro? When I pay such a lot for Interspire, I also expect that they build in the usefull stuff, and not the freeware-stuff, which is good in a GPL-System like Joomla, but not in a high-priced professional system. Do they want to save a few dollars? Sure, but only theire own. Theire pricing is definitely high ... and the problem ist, the quality doesn´t follow anymore.

Best wishes, Julian!

PS: Yes, I also wrote it to the support. They seem to ignore questions for pricing or other.

I am also a fan of no monthly fees, I do not know why anyway would pay. However, I have been using a software called omnistarmailer and I like it a lot. I just compared it ti interspire and it seems to have more features and it is cheaper.

I am a fan of self-installed systems as monthly payment ones are quite wasteful. Therefore Interspire excites me for sure. The only drawback was the rather steep price tag.

Compared to paying monthly, the payback period is around 2 years. Also, most people are not ready to invest $400 upfront unless they already have a profitable business.

I am currently using different stand-alone autoresponder system which does a decent job and it cost me less than $200. However, Interspire looks so clean and sleek if you can afford it.

Read Hilmys last blog post..How Wordpress Single Install Can Be A Productivity Booster
