If you take the time to look around the internet at some of the biggest blogs you will notice that they all have one thing in common, thousands of RSS feed subscribers. Having a high number of subscribers can benefit you in many ways.
I have come up with 5 things that you need to be doing now if you want to increase your RSS subscription.
Place Your Subscribe Button on Top. The best place for your RSS buttons is at the top of your blog either in the header or the sidebar, i have come across numurous blogs that only have a tiny button hidden right down in the footer.
Another very good place is at the end of every post on your blog you will notice ours at the end of this post, and dont be afraid to ask people to subscribe,
Provide Unique and Informative Content. This is a subject that always comes up. Posting unique and informative content will help increase your subscriptions as people will want to see what else you have to offer them.
The Freebie. This is a very good method of gaining subscribers. Offer them a freebie like an ebook if they subscribe you will be surprised at the amount of people who will just to get the freebie.
Start a series. Start posting a series of posts as we did with our Guide to yahoo answers this will get you more sign ups as people will want to see the next part in the series.
RSS Feed Exchanges. Join in with RSS feed exchanges this will gain you a lot of subscribers. Many bloggers will offer a feed exchange on their blogs be sure to join our RSS feed exschange.

I must say this is something I’ve never really tried to do. I guess because I never subscribe to anyone elses, I figure why would someone want to subscribe to mine? I always include the buttons and everything, but it’s not something I focus on.
