In part one of this series we talked about getting yourself familiar with Yahoo answers. In part 2 we are going to start promoting our products or websites.

At any one time their are thousands of people answering questions so it is important that you are fast to answer any unanswered questions. You need to answer questions in as much detail as possible and always begin by saying hello to the person who asked the question.

Referring to the person wanting an answer in your response will increase your chances of being voted as giving the best answer.

Quick Tip: Use the built in spell checker before you post.

Remember that the ultimate goal is to be selected as the best answer (Top Answer) because the more often you are selected the more exposure your answer, profile and website will receive.

The Points System

With Yahoo answers you are awarded points every time you answer a question. As your points grow so will your user level. The lower your level the less questions you can answer per day. Their are 4 levels for you to achieve with level 4 being the ultimate as this allows you to answer unlimited questions.

When you begin you will be allowed to leave answers to 20 questions which will earn you 140 points for your first day. Getting selected as the top answer will earn you extra points.

Locating Specific Niche Related Questions

One good feature is the ability to search for unanswered questions within your niche. At the top of the Yahoo answers page you will see the advanced search option.

When you goto advanced search enter the keywords that you are targeting and select `keyowrd match` this will make sure you only see unanswered questions that match your keyword. Select all categories as from time to time people will post in the wrong category. Be sure to select `open questions only`

By answering the most recent open questions your ensuring that your URL is getting the maximum exposure as the older the post the less people will be looking.
