So how do you go about getting a popular blog. Below I have list a few things that will assist you in becoming popular but a word of warning you have to work at it don’t think it will just happen by itself.
1. Host Your Own
Many bloggers still use the free services offered by Wordpress.com and Blogger.com. Hosting a blog on your own domain not only shows you are serious but also has far greater benefits than the free ones.
2. Update, update and update
This is extremely important, you want to post at least once or twice a day. This will keep people and search engines coming back time and time again.
3. Forums
Join forums within your chosen subject and join in with the community to build a good reputation this will get members coming to your blog to see what you have to offer.
4. Social Bookmarking
Using websites such as Digg, Sphinn and Del.icio.us to name but a few will help you gain not only traffic but back links as well. Check out our post of 104 Social Bookmarking Websites.
5. Web directories
Submit your blog to web directories to help build your back links.
6. Comment on other blogs
Subscribe to other blogs in your chosen subject and comment on their posts this will get your name known.
These are just a few of my tips to assist you in gaining popularity for your blog. Follow these tips and you will be well on your way to gaining your ultimate aim of popularity.

All of the ways that you write here are the “should be use” for a blogger to make our site popular….
But i think that many newbie still didn’t realize that host you own blog have a huge advantage over the site traffic. This is maybe because their are not ready to spend some little money over the web…
Many newbies nowadays just want to make money online but didn’t want to spend some money to make more money.
To your money success…..

While “content is king,” as they say, having your own hosting and domain is indeed another factor that helps a blog appear to be more authoritative.

Nice post. I’m just starting to get back into forums. I didn’t realize how much they helped until I got too busy to participate. I also lost touch with a lot of online marketing friends that I knew through forums.

Nice tips, but about search engines coming often to your blog if you post once a day, well, no way. It will come back to check your blog but how often it will be is not related to how often you post. Anyway, nice tips, again
