You ask any blogger if they want a popular blog and they will all answer YES. The problems many bloggers face are making it popular. I have been blogging for 8 months and I feel that my blog is only just starting to take off.

So how do you go about getting a popular blog. Below I have list a few things that will assist you in becoming popular but a word of warning you have to work at it don’t think it will just happen by itself.

1. Host Your Own

Many bloggers still use the free services offered by WordPress.com and Blogger.com. Hosting a blog on your own domain not only shows you are serious but also has far greater benefits than the free ones.

2. Update, update and update

This is extremely important, you want to post at least once or twice a day. This will keep people and search engines coming back time and time again.

Sphinn It Plugin For WordPress

If you are a blogger then you will have heard of Sphinn a site similar to Digg. Sphinn is aimed at Internet marketers and is an excellent content management website and a highly popular one.

One thing i noticed though is the lack of plugins available. After searching Google and looking at the Tools section of Sphinn i came across the same 2 plugins every time. One which only puts the vote button on the homepage of your blog and not within the post itself and one that does not align itself with your content.

In this post i am going to discuss Sphinn and how and why you should be using it. Compared to the other content management website i believe Sphinn to be the better one for bloggers.

So you have a new website and want to know what to do next. In this article i am going to talk about just some of the basic things to do with your new website. You will need to be sure that each page is search engine friendly so that it can be indexed quickly there are many tools on the internet that will assist you. Next create a 301 redirect in your htaccess file telling the search engines how you want your URL to be shown either with or without the WWW. Get your self a sitemap and submit it in Google Webmaster Tools.
