Using a Squeeze Page To Build Your List
Posted by David Hobson | Posted in Misc | Posted on 09-02-2008
Setting up a squeeze page could not be simpler and in this article we discuss how to go about getting one up and running and getting the subscribers you are looking for.
Getting an Mailing List Script.
Their are hundreds of mailing list scripts available on the Internet from self hosted ones to auto responders hosted for you. We are currently using a self hosted script provided by poMMo which we find extremely easy to use and implement on our website. The best thing is its FREE unlike many of the auto responders you will find on the Internet.
Setting up your squeeze page.
A squeeze page requires at least 3 pages, The main home page, the confirmation page and a thank you page.
Create the homepage (Squeeze Page)
The home page is the main selling point of your squeeze page. Include as much information as possible to get them interested in getting your free product. You can download a squeeze page template here this is the one we use on our Yahoo Answers Guide website.
Create the Confirmation Page
The confirmation page is where you want to send all your subscribers to when they decide to sign up. Make sure this page tells them that they will not receive their product until they confirm their subscription in the email they will receive.
Create the Thank-You Page
This is where they will download their ebook. The good thing now is you can place your affiliate links on the thank you page and make money from them. Be sure to use an affiliate link cloaker program to protect your affiliate links. We currently use My Link Guard to hide our affiliate links.
Create your List
Decide what you are going to call your list. Make sure your list is double opt-in and include the url to the confirmation page so they go their upon joining. Make sure that when they click on the confirmation link they are redirected to your thank you page.
Make the Sign up Form
Most mailing lists scripts will build your sign up form for you. You just need to copy the HTML and enter it on your homepage.
Getting people to Subscribe
Now you have your squeeze page and your mailing list set up you need to get some subscribers. One of the ways i like to do this is sign upto joint ventures as a contributor and offer your ebook to them to give away to their members. One of my favourites is 365 Giveaways as they provide a link to your squeeze page for their members to sign up and this has so far brought in other half of my subscribers. Their are hundreds of joint ventures on the internet you will find some more here.
We hope you find this article useful and as always comments are welcome and no follow free.

You are so right! The money is in the list. And unless you’re building a list you’re not really building a business.
