Why You Must Use Forums For Promotion

When it comes to website promotion and marketing how many of you think about online forums? Forums can be and are a great place to generate traffic and sales for your website. Below are the reasons that we believe forums are a must. If you agree or disagree with the following then be sure to comment at the end and have your say.
You build your brand name.
Participating in forums by posting useful information and responding to other member’s posts with the answers they are looking for builds your reputation and your name. As your reputation grows so will the flow of traffic.
You get back links.
Most forums allow you to have a signature in every post. This gives you a back link to your website every time you post.
Good source for ideas and answers.
Joining in with forums can give you some great ideas of what to do with your own website as you learn what others are doing. Forums can also be a great place to find answers too many questions you might need answering.
Post your offers.
Many forums will have a marketing section where you can post your member only special offers. This is a great way to promote your products especially if your product is related to the forums niche.

A good list.
I was more focussed on the getting of backlinks,
but your point about posting in their ad sections
is a good one.

Activity in forums is certainly good advice alright. But, the thing missing along with this advice is, usually, a list of suggested forums to join.

The reason i did`nt make a list is because our readers come from many different niches and so the list would have been endless.
Forums are a great way to brand yourself. You can get some instant traffic for a brandnew site if you find the right forum for you to post on.
Your logo as your avatar, your user name being your site´s/blog´s name, your signature.
Just make sure you behave and don´t get yourself banned.
(Having web searchers find you thru your user name with the word “banned” below is not increasing credibility).
