Harnessing the Power of Social Media for Blog Promotion and Growth

When done properly there can be significant power behind the use of social media for both your blog promotion and growth. Lets take a look at some of the things that you should be considering using this to your advantage

Define your business goals

When you use social medica as a marketing tool you need to have a strategy that is clear, and this means knowing your business goals. Are you looking to generate leads, drive traffic to your website boost sales? Knowing your goals can help define how you can use social media to achieve this. 

Sharing blog posts, images, ask questions and engage with your audience are all great ways of using social media to make your relationships with customers and potential customers better. They will also help to  showcase your products to your audience. One thing however is key when making blog posts, make sure the quality of the content is there and make sure that they are engaging. 

Plan your strategy for social media

There are a number of social media platforms out there, so you need to pick carefully which ones you want to use and how as part of a social media strategy. 

There are a couple of key things to think about:

  • Define your social media goals
  • Know your audience
  • Choose the right platform –  this is where knowing your audience will help
  • Create content that is compelling
  • Promote the content you have created
  • Engage with your audience

Once you have done all of this you will also need to ensure that you have a way of measuring your results so that you can track your progress and see what is working well for you, and what is not. This will allow you to make alterations to your strategy for better improvements. 

Create content that is compelling

Your content can be important when it comes to attracting potential customers, poor content can however have the opposite effect. In order to ensure that your content is the quality you need it to be you should ensure that you are doing everything possible to ensure that it hits the right note. 

You can use social media to research your audience, learn about their interests and needs. When you understand your audience, you will be able to create content that helps solve their problems and speaks to their needs. You can also use it to promote your content and even build up relationships with your audience. 

Analyse your results

All of this will only go so far in helping your business, if you don’t analyse the results that you are getting then you wont know what you are doing wrong and you wont be able to improve it before it potentially does some damage to your business. It will also show you what you are doing well and even where engaging with your audience has made a real difference.
